Sleep Whale “Josh Likes Me”

sleep whale little brite cover

Though I am generally of the opinion that instrumental music should be relegated to elevators and the Crate and Barrel PA system, occasionally I take a liking to something like Sleep Whale’s Little Brite EP. The Denton, TX band’s sophisticated amalgamation of classical guitar, strings, and found sound clatter is interesting to the point where adding vocals would simply be an annoyance. The single “Josh Likes Me” isn’t my favorite on the EP (that would be the fantastic “A Pebble Garden”), but it’s a good un’ too. Especially if you like guitar as it has some of the most intricate noodling on the entire record.
