Slum Village “Dope Man”
Slum Village is a group that has gone through endless amounts of trials and tribulations over the last four years; J Dilla passed away in 2006, and most recently, Baatin passed away in July. Even with all of the twisting turmoil though, it appears as though SV is here to stay.
“Dope Man” is the first single off of the forthcoming Villa Manifesto digital EP. Even though Elzhi isn’t on the cut, this is the track that die hard Slum Village fans have been looking forward to. The digital only EP will drop on December 8, and it will serve as a predecessor to the full length Slum Village album of the same name which will drop in 2010. From what I’ve read next year’s full length release will feature a fully united Slum Village, which means there will be tracks recorded with Baatin and J Dilla. [via Nah Right]
