Local band Solid Gold have proven themselves to one of Minneapolis’s biggest buzz bands of 2009. They released the excellent Bodies of Water late in 2008 and have been playing to sold out crowds at nearly every venue in Minneapolis for the first two months of 2009. The electro rock band, whose reputation is growing by the day, were invited to London to play a series of shows starting this week. The band was kind enough to agree to keep Culture Bully up to date with what is going on in their travels and how the fans in the United Kingdom are treating them. Below is the second update the band sent along to us, and finds them in good spirits as they are taking the UK by storm. Check back for more updates as the week goes on.

Well the week has been good so far. Today we are hoping to score one of the local cabbage and stewed shoe bagels. As far as music goes, I’m probably the wrong guy to ask, because I have spent the whole time in the hotel room in my underwear shredding an acoustic guitar apart, and huffing petrol. I have however seen through the post that we appeared in the NME this week, and we didn’t even have to pay them. I have become quite skilled at morse code, as that is how I communicate with the staff of the hotel. I miss my pet tiger, Lotion. We may be killing our drummer. Our slide guitar player, traveling overseas by hot air balloon is not expected to arrive until autumn. These are the days of our lives.
Love,
Matt
