Solid Gold: UK Tour Journal (Part 3)

Submitted by Josh Keller on February 28, 2009 – 11:20 amOne Comment

Local band Solid Gold have proven themselves to one of Minneapolis’s biggest buzz bands of 2009. They released the excellent Bodies of Water late in 2008 and have been playing to sold out crowds at nearly every venue in Minneapolis for the first two months of 2009. The electro rock band, whose reputation is growing by the day, were invited to London to play a series of shows starting this week. The band was kind enough to agree to keep Culture Bully up to date with what is going on in their travels and how the fans in the United Kingdom are treating them. Below is the last update the band will be sending our way before they cross the pond again and come back to Minneapolis. We would like to thank Solid Gold for keeping us up to date and we look forward to seeing and hearing more from them in the near future.

Dear readers,

This may be the last correspondence from yours truly in London. I have found that the less you sleep, the more you are awake, which in turn lengthens your stay. How dire yet beautiful! Evil lag… you pin me down and peel mine eyes toward the heavens!

Our drummer sticks has not yet perished, and that is good.

This day, our God’s Saturday, is our last of the week. Only one show today and that my friends, is awesome. A little break does us good.

All the shows, in stores, and radio have gone well, though the British peer at us in most peculiar ways. I think they see us as half clowns, half saints. I guess that’s alright though?

So, able drifters, push on and we shall see you upon our return across the great bath that washes our sinful souls and cleanses our deepest fears! Go Vikings, Go!!!!!
