The largely electronic band’s music automatically conjures up memories of the Postal Service, though they mix in enough acoustic folk to ward off further comparisons to that much-adored group.

I’ve been meaning to check out this album, thanks for the reminder with this video. I haven’t listened to much Steve Earle but Townes Van Zandt is an all time favorite and I have heard good things about Steve Earle’s cover album.
Absolutely love this performance, but the record didn’t really click for me. There’s some intangible that Steve has that is amplified when he’s playing in a live setting–the man is just too damn cool.
I can definately see where that’d be true. I will still be checking out the record and I should finally dive in to the Steve Earle catalog.
i really enjoy the new one, but i think it helps that Townes is a favorite of mine
I am a bit wary of albums like this (single artist covering a single artist) but I’ve heard good reviews from friends. But I am sure it will just bring me back to my Townes records.
Yay for this one, loved it, thanks.
Made me miss Austin.
