Super Furry Animals “It’s Not The End Of The World” (Best of the Decade)

Super Furry Animals have been consistently putting out great music for the entire decade, actually to the point where it was actually hard to pinpoint one song or album as their best. Looking back at their work over the last 10 years, the song that I have found myself listening to more than any other is “It’s Not The End Of The World” from 2001′s Rings Around the World. The song exemplifies what is so great about lead singer/songwriter Gruff Rhys and the band in general. It is a relatively simple song, with sonic flourishes and lyrics that are Flaming Lips-esqe in that they convey a simple message but find a weirdly roundabout way to say them. The band has never been afraid to take bold chances, and with amazing songs like this, Super Furry Animals have proven why they were one of the most consistently engaging bands of the decade.

I agree. i’m 41, and loved alot of music over the course of my life, but i’m really hardpressed to love a band more than SFA. They almost ruin other bands/music for me :)

    SFA OK indeed.
