The American Gladiator: Wesley “2 Scoops” Berry
Sunday brought a wonderful set of circumstance for me – long story short I was reminded about someone I should have never forgotten about, that man being Mr. Wesley “2 Scoops” Berry. It wasn’t WWE or UFC or boxing that made American Gladiators obsolete, it was 2 Scoops – the man who put every single one of them to shame, set records and saved babies from burning buildings along the way (that third fact has yet to be fact checked). But hold up – it’s time to stop being polite and start being real – yes, a few years after his peak the ol’ scooper was sentenced for 10-20 for his contribution in a robbery, but that’s like bringing up James Brown’s later years when remembering the man’s entire life…it just sours the soup, y’know.
So take a few moments for 2 Scoops and watch the man do what he did best. And as 2 Scoops would have wanted, you had best give 11..120% when watching these videos! And for those interested, I’ve transcribed his celebration rap which he performed after annihilating both Great Britain’s contestant and The Eliminator record.

YES! 2 scoops is a god among men, it makes me wonder what extraordinarily insance circumstances he must have been in for him to have actually been caught by the police in that robbery. Because I’m pretty sure he’s made out of magic.
The legendary saga of 2 scoops continues…I am part of a ministry where I go to San Quentin prison monthly and play basketball with a select few of the inmates. I had heard a rumor that one of the guys on the inmate team, who introduced himself to me as “Preacher” or “2 Scoops” was an American Gladiator. So just for fun, I tried to find him on the internet which led me to your site. All this to say that Wesley “2 Scoops” Berry is alive and well and still displaying his crazy atheletic ability for others to enjoy. He is now called Preacher as he has fully given his life over to Jesus Christ and misisters to other troubled inmates while serving out his remaining sentence. Thanks for posting these videos – I told him about them today and he was quite excited!

Well everyone makes mistakes and we are all human. Never forget that just because you sit behind prison walls you are guilty because that is not the case all the time. There are thousands of chidlren and adults sitting in prision for crimes they did not commit or because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is my cousin and I love him to death and I know he is remorseful for his actions. He has always been a man of God, our whole family was raised in church but that doesn’t make us lesser sinners than anyone else. Don’t judge unless you want to be judged. I love you Wesley.
I remember this guy when he came to England to try out the game of Rugby League. We were playing in the 1st Division and he got a trial for the 2nd team. It must have been around 1995.
How on earth he ended up in the town of Halifax from the US seemed a little strange!
