Gosh… the singles series is probably the weakest songs the Decemberists have ever put out.
That’s not to say that they’re bad songs, I just don’t think they’re up to the usual Meloy standards.
I don’t know – I’ve never been too big of a fan… really enjoyed The Crane Wife, but it doesn’t have the same impact on me now as it did when it was released. You’re right though – even though I’ve never been crazy about the band, the new songs are a bit of a let down.
