The Love Language “Lalita”

The formation of Wilmington, North Carolina’s Love Language is an unusual one. For instance the band had a MySpace page before they ever even existed. The page in question was originally just a vehicle for Stuart McLamb to post a break up composition aimed at a former girlfriend (I am not sure which tune it was, but the Love Language’s debut album is a laundry list of failed relationship songs). After creating and posting his song he decided, in his own words: “Yeah, I’m going to make a band out of it.” He recruited his brother Jordan to drum and friend Jeff Chapple to play guitar, and behold: the Love Language. What is most unusual about this scenario is that the band, which was created on a whim, doesn’t suck. Enough exposition though. Give “Lalita” a listen and decide for yourself. It’s a gritty track that’s equal parts 1960′s tambourine pop and abrasive fuzzed out guitar. If you like it, there is more where that came from as the band’s entire debut is filled with great material.
