Last week Conan O’Brien again found his show host to multiple performances from The White Stripes, this time around the band performed “Icky Thump” and “Effect & Cause.” While delivering the songs in a different fashion than 2005’s five night residency, the band did break away from the usual stage performance by playing “Effect & Cause” while sitting amongst the audience. I can’t help but get a kick out of this, but during “Effect & Cause” there is an audience member in a blue & white striped shirt (sitting to the right of Jack White) who seems to be spacing off as much as he’s looking at the band. How many people would pay hundreds of dollars to be in his position, people who would force their eyelids to refrain from blinking, and here’s a guy who can’t seem to be bothered to even act like he’s paying attention. As usual though Conan seemed to honestly get a kick out of the band, praising after “Icky Thump,” “that’s the real thing, I could hear that twice!” Well, now you can as there’s audio and video after the jump.
