The Amherst trio had towers of amps stacked up all over the stage, including one that was pointed directly towards front man J Mascis, in case his monitors weren’t providing him enough of his own guitar sound. And not having enough sound has never really been a problem for the group, and it certainly wasn’t on this evening as the band tore through a fiery 90 minute set that spanned the band’s entire career.

Never having heard a Foreigner mashup before the quality of this track’s seamless blend creates a uniquely kitschy piece of ’80s indulgence. While a bit of an stretch on paper this works pretty well…though, would you really expect anything less from the ever-consistent DJ Lobsterdust?

Mashuptown just posted a video mashup done by The Illuminoids combining L7’s “Pretend We’re Dead” with CSS’ “Alala.” It is…unique…

After a whirlwind of sets at SXSW down in Austin The Hood Internet’s ABX still found time to put together a sweet bootleg this week, combining Neon Neon with Pitbull. Sidenote: if you’re in Iowa or western Illinois and are looking for something to do in about a week and a half’s time I might suggest checking out the Mission Creek Music Festival in Iowa City. There The Hood Internet will be performing along side the likes of Spoon, Dan Deacon, The Walkmen and Bon Iver. For more information on this festival and The Hood Internet’s catalog of mashups head over to ABX & DJ STV SLV’s MySpace page.

DJ Topcat, the most prolific producer I’ve been following as of late, has put out another interesting set of releases this week including the likes of Eminem vs. Wolfmother, Smokey Robinson vs. Muse and this, a unique blend of moody electronica and hip hop.
