This Week in Mashups (06/15/2008)

ToToM has released the third and final installment of his Nine Inch Nails-themed series, Bootleg is Resistance Volume III. Like its predecessors it offers some fantastic ideas and unique combinations; “The Beginning of Feeling Loved” for example, where Lady Sovereign acts as an integral divide between Depeche Mode’s “I Feel Loved” and Nine Inch Nails’ “The Beginning of the End.”
The most shocking track on the mix might be that of the “Sweet Home Alabama” mashup…though much of this third volume is surprising. Thinking that “Born to Be Alive” combined with anything would sound good might be proof that ToToM is crazy, but putting those thoughts into action and having positive proof that it was a good idea suggests he is equally as talented. Bootleg is Resistance III is a fitting conclusion to his project.

Following up the utterly phenomenal Chicagoland mix are two tracks this week from The Hood Internet. Both are fantastic, but if given my druthers I’d suggest checking this one out first.
