Faith No More planning to schedule U.S. dates
The Faith No More reunion was the talk of European festivals all summer long, but the band left their American fans completely on the fence as to whether or not they would be performing in the USA. Well, their anticipation has been rewarded by bassist Bill Gould, who revealed via Twitter that fans need not fret. He says “Tweet THIS: In response to all of our concerned US brethren…YES…we yare (sic) now actively planning US dates.”
And now the new questions can begin. When? Where? With who? I can’t wait to find out! Who knows, maybe we’ll even be so lucky so as to lure Patton and friends out to an intimate space like First Avenue for this. I can dream!

Fuck the Facts unveil trailer for David Hall directed Disgorge, Mexico: The Movie
The Canadian grinders in Fuck the Facts have unveiled a trailer this week for the David Hall directed film adaptation of their new album Disgorge Mexico. Hall had previously released a film for Today Is The Day’s Axis of Eden, which I had the fortune of viewing while Today is The Day were on tour through the Turf Club earlier this year. Though his imagery for Axis of Eden was quite confusing and unsettling, it did a great job of matching the disorienting feel that Steve Austin created on that release. It seems Hall does a great job of working with the artists who he’s interpreting, and I’m sure the more direct assault of Fuck the Facts’ Disgorge, Mexico will provide even better aural fodder for his quick cuts and hallucinatory imagery.

Profound Lore drop a new fall sampler
While I’ve been very busy plowing through midterms this week, I’ve seem to have found plenty of time to listen to this brand new sampler from Profound Lore on repeat! For those of you who are out of the loop, this is a great release to catch you back up with the label that has consistently pushed the boundaries of metal more than any other in the last couple of years. The download is packed full of some of the best we’ve already heard from in 2009 (YOB and Cobalt) as well as some of the best we haven’t heard (Krallice, available 11/10, and Impetous Ritual, available 12/15). Do yourself a favor and download it for FREE today!

Off With Their Heads replace the Accused on Municipal Waste tour
Unfortunately the Accused had to cancel their previously announced dates on Municipal Waste’s highly anticipated fall tour in support of Massive Aggressive. However, it looks like that tour won’t suffer after all, as the highly energetic sounds Minneapolis-bred punks Off With Their Heads will serve as the replacement for the elder crossover innovators on the west coast and Midwest dates. The tour will hit the Triple Rock Social Club on December 1, with Phobia and Cauldron opening the show.

—Be on the look out! Vogg from Decapitated has announced plans to return with new members, new tour dates, and a new album. With the memory of Vitek still fresh, I’m curious to see how fans will respond to Vogg’s decision to lift the band from the dead.
—This week Converge dropped their new album Axe To Fall, and considering the huge amount of press flooding the net, you could certainly tell. Jake Bannon did a track-by-track recap with Decibel’s Deciblog, MetalKult is hosting video of the band’s complete live set at Club Europa, and even the TC AV Club got in the action with an interview with Bannon about what makes him happy.
—Deciblog also had an excellent interview with Jello Biafra about all sorts of very interesting stuff. (part 1 | part 2)
