Krallice post “The Mountain” mp3 from Dimensional Bleedthrough

This week the dudes over at Blood and Shutter were kind enough to post a link to the song “The Mountain” from the new Krallice record, Dimensional Bleedthrough. If the song is any indication, this record somehow tops the primal ferocity they exhibited on their incredible debut last year.

Dirty Rotten Imbeciles

D.R.I. schedules U.S. tour dates

Oooh, fuck yeah! I’m too young to remember the last time the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles graced us with a performance here in Minnesota, but even I am well aware of how exciting this news truly is for the punks and longhairs from around the area. D.R.I. is a band that has had as much of a hand in defining the sound of metal as we know it as Metallica has, and while most of the world does not know this, their fan base surely does. On February 5, 2010, Station 4 will be their stage while we rage the circle pit on the floor! [via Blabbermouth]

Nile now streaming “Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld”

During the course of the last week, we’ve slowly seen Nile’s Those Whom the Gods Detest pieced together over the internet; artwork was revealed early, and now we’ve been given the first taste of new music from the Florida death metal elite’s latest opus. The title, “Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld”, sure is a mouthful, but it’s immediately easy to wrap your head around the awesomeness of the brutal death metal unveiled by this posting. Russian Circles streaming Geneva; schedule November tour with Young Widows

Russian Circles and Young Widows will be teaming together this November for a multi-leg tour that will take them around the country, including a stop at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis on November 25 (edit: it was just announced that due to a close friend passing, Young Widows will not be playing the Triple Rock date). While they aren’t necessarily metal, both bands definitely have the live presence to make up for their lack of distortion and should put on one hell of a satisfying show. For those not in the know, this week Russian Circles launched a damn sexy sounding stream of their forthcoming album Geneva, and you can check out all the entrancing polyrhythmic bliss for free over at the Suicide Squeeze Records website. —This week the scumdogs in GWAR take us along on an adventure through space to their homeplanet in their hiliarious new music video for the song “Let Us Slay”. And while I’m willing to admit that I’ve never really listened to GWAR, that doesn’t change the fact that this song has all the chops necessary to get my fist pumping. Maybe I was missing out?

—Demiricous may have been dropped from their previous label, but the band is not throwing in the towel that easily. They’ll enter the studio in November to demo some new tracks.

—Barren Earth (featuring members Swallow the Sun, Moonsorrow, Kreator, and Mannhai) properly announced a release for their debut EP this week, and from the clips they’ve posted at the their MySpace, this will be a big hit with the Opeth crowd.

—Virginia based thrashaholics Municipal Waste have expanded their U.S. tour schedule. They’ll be on the road for the entire month of November supporting their new release Massive Aggressive, including a stop at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis late in the tour with the Accused, Phobia, and Cauldron.

—Scar Symmetry are now streaming their forthcoming album Dark Matter Dimensions. Those interested in how the new dual vocalist replacement will be glad to know the band sounds as Scar Symmetry-like as ever.

—Susperia’s “Character Flaw” music video hit the web this week. The track sounds thick and beastly, and it’s great to see Athera rocking through his bypass operation like a trooper. Rock on brothers!

—Those of you still lusting over “retro, Thin Lizzy-inspired rawk guitars”, search no further. The dudes at Metal Sucks are hosting an exclusive stream of “We Roam” from the new Saviours album, Accelerated Living. One part Motorhead, a tad pit of thrash, and—yes—a healthy helping of Lizzy, there’s no denying that the new shit from Saviours rocks hard.

—The hellions in Skeletonwitch will be in the Twin Cities in a only few days (9/28) to play Epic with the Children of Bodom, Black Dahlia Murder, and Skeletonwitch, but they’re already lining up more tour dates at the behest of their fans. They’ll be bringing Breathing the Fire, their new album of blackened thrash to the Midwest at the end of October with an equally awesome list of bands including BDM, Toxic Holocaust, and Trap Them.

—The music video for “Grizzly” from the Hoods’ new album Pit Beast is a admittedly a pretty standard affair. However, the song makes me want to punch way more kittens than most. One thumb up for quality California hardcore!

—The Boston-based death-thrash band Revocation popped up on the metal map virtually out of nowhere this year, and their Relapse debut Existence is Futile might just be one of 2009’s few game-changing albums. Stream the disc now here.

—Experimental Norwegian black metal artists Nihill released their album album Krach (the first of a three part trilogy) in 2007 via Momentum Records, but thanks to Hydrahead Records the epic debut has now had a stateside release. Preview Krach here!

—Despised Icon’s “Day of Mourning” music video is deathcore at its finest, however good that might be. View it here.

—Who would’ve guessed that some young upstarts from California would self-release one of the most eye-opening death metal albums of the year? You can listen to Cormorant’s Metazoa for yourself here (before they are inevitably picked up by a label and rest of the world has the chance to).

—The video for God Dethroned’s “Poison Fog” is out, as well; it’s a big “meh” on the visuals, but a big “fuck yeah” as far as the track is concerned.

—Stream the Hydrahead reissue of Oxbow’s 1989 album Fuckfest online here. Enough said.
