Soft Focus is just one of many new programs on Vice’s new internet-only television network (VBS). It’s host Ian Svenonius, who I feel dumber for not knowing anything about until now, begins the interview series with a set of guests that I can in no way argue against. The first two being Henry Rollins and Ian Mackaye who are both, like Svenonius, Washington, DC natives. Rollins has long been my cultural patriarch and Mackaye, obviously a top-ten, never fails to give a poor interview (even to SPIN). The third interview is with Bonnie “Prince” Billy himself, Will Oldham. Please enjoy as we sit back end enjoy life in soft focus with this four-part sit down with Henry Rollins.
I thought Ian Svenonius’ interview with Ian MacKaye was one of the best interviews of any kind I’d ever seen.

I love this guy. He seems to be one of a kind. So much authenticity and free speech. A great model for all beaten down and scared to talk persons out there. The interviewer is funny and sage too. Cool to have found this interview.
