Walk Hard: The Legend of Dewey Cox

The trailer for Judd Apatow’s upcoming Walk The Line parody, Walk Hard: The Legend of Dewey Cox, has been released and it looks to be hilarious! Following up Apatow’s Knocked Up and Superbad, Walk Hard spoofs the life of Dewey Cox (played by Team Shake n’ Bake alumni John C. Reilly) as he overcomes the trials and tribulations of life (many of which are oddly similar to that of Johnny Cash) on his way to stardom. Along the way, Jack White plays Elvis, Paul Rudd plays John Lennon and a cast including The Office’s Jenna Fischer, Jason Schwartzman, Harold Ramis, Tim Meadows and Chris Parnell all help the cause. Walk Hard should be great! (via Spinner)

  • Bryan says:

Saw the preview for this went I went to see the unfunny Superbad. The part where he picks up the guitar as a kid cracked me up.

  • Chris DeLine says:

I haven’t seen Superbad yet – what made it unfunny? Also, agreed – that part is funny…the entire trailer had me rolling.

  • Bryan says:

Not sure. There were a few okay parts and a really funny part early on, but I felt about it the same way I felt about Napoleon Dynamite. I get the feeling people think it’s supposed to be funny so they say it is.

  • Chris DeLine says:

Haha, well, I’m sure that’s the case for some but I loved Napoleon Dynamite…I was however kind of the oddball out who didn’t think “Knocked Up” was the realistic masterpiece it was made out to be. Who knows this time around though, I love Michael Cera (and especially his short online show Clark and Michael http://www.clarkandmichael.com/) and don’t see why I wouldn’t enjoy Superbad.

  • Matt says:

Seriously, Superbad is hillarious from start to finish, all fuckery aside.

  • Chris DeLine says:

I thought it was pretty funny, but for whatever reason I don’t know that it entirely lived up to the ‘funniest movie of the year’ hype. I’m going to check it out again though because I feel like there might be a bit more to it than what I remember.
