Zach de la Rocha & Tom Morello: “And Now What?” (CIW Protest)

Submitted by Chris DeLine on May 4, 2007 – 10:15 amNo Comment

For a fan of Rage Against The Machine growing up the group’s voice took precedent over its music just enough to keep listeners focused on the matter at hand; all the while its funk never ceasing to lure new listeners in. Before this past weekend’s reunion of Rage Against The Machine Tom Morello and Zach de la Rocha took the stage with one another for the first time in roughly seven years in Chicago as apart of Coalition of Immokalee Workers protest on April 14th. de le Rocha accompanied Morello in a song which he wrote on the plane to the event which followed Morello’s performance under the moniker Nightwatchman. Later that evening the duo went on to perform RATM stand outs “People of the Sun,” “Down Rodeo” and “Bulls on Parade;” again, however, it was de la Rocha’s lyrics that took precedent on this evening.
