Zero 7 releases trio of remixes for “Everything Up (Zizou)”

Submitted by Chris DeLine on July 6, 2009 – 10:27 amNo Comment

Zero 7 will be releasing Yeah Ghost this September as the duo’s follow-up to its 2006 release The Garden. Though not the first single from the new album (that being “Medicine Man”), a trio of remixes have been officially released for the track “Everything Up (Zizou).” Mock & Toof’s mix is reminiscent of early-’90s Aphex Twin with a minimalist bounce spread over a tranquil backdrop, and Gold Panda’s remix raises the tempo a bit but doesn’t stretch itself in any distinct direction. The best of the batch however is Joker & Ginz’s take on the song which sounds like each individual layer is being pushed to its limit—the old Spinal Tap adage of turning it up to 11 comes to mind—before folding everything back in on itself. That, and the video for the mix is absolutely insane.
