A small group of us used to head away each August for a long weekend and tour our local area and state, something which we would always look forward to and which brought us a great deal of joy. Naturally last August was not possible because of the pandemic and so we didn’t even bother looking to see what the costs would be of a vacation. Given that things are now easing up we have once again begun to look into various options and we have noticed that the average charter bus rates have fallen dramatically based on just a couple of years ago.
Naturally for us this is something that we are most happy about but it is also a telling sign of the situation in which we are living. I have spoken to a number of charter bus companies and this is why they have decided to drop their rates.
Driving Up Numbers
Rather than just looking upon this as a sad situation, we have to recognize that there is very much a case of taking an opportunity here. Many bus companies which I spoke to told me about the fact that domestic tourism numbers are through the roof, of course because nobody is flying as they once did, and this is why they have dropped prices, in order t get that trade.
Reaction To The Current Situation
Now you may be sitting there thinking that if numbers were rising in terms of popularity then surely the numbers would also be rising in terms of prices, but there has been lessons learned in the last 12 months. A lot of companies genuinely thought that they were going to have to close their doors once the pandemic hit, and that is why they are more than happy to lower those prices just to get people coming through the door and taking out their bus charters. This is a refreshing view and I think that for so many independent businesses it is one that they most definitely share.
Increased Investment
There aren’t many charter bus companies who would have depended on advertising in the past but it is fair to say that they will have made some extra cash through this medium. What so many local businesses are now recognizing is that if they spend some money on a company like a charter bus service, then they can bring customers to their door. This is because of the fact that local tourism is booming and so what better way to get people to your restaurant or your store, than to market with fellow local businesses. For many bus companies they have been able to pass this saving onto the customer and again this is why we have seen the prices tumble.
I perfectly understand that these prices could rise once again in the future but for the time being it is a great thing to have happen which is helping customers and businesses alike.
