Days pass by so quickly, and before you realize it you have spent the whole day caring for others, focusing on their happiness and wellbeing and neglecting your own care. Well, that’s got to stop. It is time to start putting yourself first and focusing on what you want and what you need to make you feel happy. You need to feel good on the inside each and every day. That way you’ll be happy and the best carer you can be.
Whether someone in your family is fighting a chronic illness, and cerebral palsy types are one of the most important information you need, for example, or you are raising a young family, taking time to focus on your own wellbeing is super important. There are actually lots of little things you can do throughout the day that will make you feel good on the inside.
Have a Hot Drink and Some Breakfast
The first thing you should do is have a hot drink. Warming yourself with a hot drink is a must, especially on those cold mornings. A hot drink can give you some time to yourself, and ensure you don’t start off the day in a state of dehydration. Your first hot drink doesn’t even have to contain caffeine if you don’t want it to. This is not about getting you moving, this is about getting you hydrated. The next thing you need to do is get something to eat. Quite often you probably skip breakfast, but you shouldn’t as your body needs the calories and energy that food provides, so, don’t deny yourself food in the morning. Feed your body, after all it deserves it – it does a fantastic job every day.
Take 5 Minutes to Focus Your Mindset
Whether you are rushing around after children or juggling work, it can be hard to focus on things for five minutes in one go let alone any longer. So, to ensure you have a clear and focused mind it is important to focus your mindset. Work out what you want to achieve and what you want to do with the rest of the day and set about achieving it. Just having five minutes at any stage of the day will give you that much-needed thinking time that sometimes can be very hard to come across.
Talk and Share
Your wellbeing is hugely affected by the way that you feel. If you feel down, you are going to feel a bit rubbish, if you are sad you could then feel down and potentially isolated, and this is why it is very beneficial to share the feelings and emotions that you are going through. All of your emotions, thoughts and feelings help make up who you are, and they contribute either in a negative or positive way to your wellbeing, so, it is very important to talk to others, share feelings and emotions and not hold back what you want to say. Your will feel better in yourself if you are true, open and honest, and, these are important things to remember when moving forward.
